These are some pictures from the first week or so. I have yet to upload the ones from this weekend, so those won't be on here until mid week or so. Our first couple of days were spent at Castelgandolfo, the Vatican, and in the city itself. We went to Mass at St. Peter's and then walked around the city looking at the different defining things in Rome. This past weekend we spent in the city. We walked into a random church and found two original Caravaggio's, of which there will be pictures soon. We also went to a church made of bones, but weren't allowed to take pictures in it. Saturday we had a scavenger hunt in the city, went to a wine tasting and real Italian dinner at a villa, and spent the night in the city for Notte Bianca. This weekend we'll be heading to Pompeii and Napoli.

Michelangelo's Pieta in St. Peter's Basilica (a lot smaller than I imagined but more stunning then could ever be captured)

The Swiss Guard at Castelgandolfo (Pope's summer residence, and they must be the least intimidatingly dressed guards on the planet)

OMG Victoria! These pictures are beautiful. It must be just AMAZING to be able to see this stuff. So, how was the wine tasting? And the real italian food? How different is it from here?

haha the wine tasting was an experience for most. i'm convinced that they do it so that the professors can make fun us later! the food in the cafeteria is way better than italian food at home haha so the real dinner was incredible. they cook their pasta differently so it takes some getting used to but other than that it's amazing
